Overview
Today we allow stores to block checkout when a specific Address Rule is detected where the customer needs to resolve the issue until the block goes away. For the Missing Apt / Unit # rule, we've built a new system to better handle these blocks within our Checkout Extension.
This block checkout rule was built specifically for Before Checkout validation and requires Shopify Plus.
Get Started
To begin blocking checkout for the missing apt / unit rule, there are two steps that need to be setup.
Setup within Address Guard
Go to: Rules & Tags > Address Rules
Scroll down to "Missing Apt / Unit" and select to be Enabled
Setup within Shopify
Go to: Settings > Checkout > Customize (live theme)
Select the Address Guard validation extension
Click to enable the "Allow app to block checkout" setting under Checkout Behavior, then click Save.
