Overview
This guide will help walk you through configuring Address Guard to work alongside your local delivery methods in order to prevent address validation. Common examples can be for UPS Pickup Points or similar destinations.
Get Started
Before rules can be defined, you'll first need to know the "Delivery Method Type" used for your local pickup option. If you're using a Shopify app to handle this for you, most use the value "shipping" or "pickup points", but you'll need to check with them to confirm. If you're using HubBox, we have a support guide for them here.
To begin configuring your validation rules, please follow these steps:
Rules & Tags > Validation Rules
Enable the checkbox for "Skip address validation for local delivery methods"
Click the Add Rule button
For each rule you'll need to configure the following values:
Select the Delivery method type that your app / store uses (ex: shipping or local)
Enter in the Shipping method title your store uses for this option during checkout (ex: In-store pickup)
Once done, click on Save at the top and you're all set.
Note: You can add as many rules as you want, but 1 rule = 1 shipping method title, so if you're using multiple shipping methods in checkout, you'll need to add more rules.
