Overview

The Postscript integration with Address Guard, allows brands to alert customers of issues with their shipping address via a direct text message. This method ensures customers can react to their order issues quickly and easily via your Postscript automation.

Note: This integration is in Beta, if you're interested in utilizing it on your account please reach out to our team.

Getting Started

This process involves first connecting your Postscript account to Address Guard with your API Key.

Step 1: Create an Postscript API Key

  • Login to your Postscript account.

  • From the left menu click "Settings" and then click on the API option.

  • Within the API page click on "Create Security Key Pair" on the top right.

  • Set a label for your API Key, such as "Address Guard".

  • Click the "Show" button for the Private Key (copy this value).

Step 2: Connect Postscript to Address Guard

  • Access your Address Guard account

  • From the left menu click: General Settings > Integrations > Postscript

  • Paste in the Private Key from Step 1 and click Connect

Once you see the success message, the connection should be marked as Connected. The final step is to create your Automation flow within Postscript.

Step 3: Setup SMS Automation

  • Click back to your Postscript account

  • Click Messaging > Automations

  • Click Create Automation on the top right > then select Create New Automation

The purpose of this automation is to alert the customer via SMS when their order is marked as having an undeliverable address. The message will include a link to the address form associated with their order to update the address.

  • Within Automation properties select the trigger as: Invalid Shipping Address

  • Next, add your Message to occur below the trigger event

Within the message, we recommend the following format:

Hi {First-Name} ,

We received your order Orderid but were unable to verify your shipping address. Please update or confirm via this link: Aglink

  • First Name - Set this to be the merge tag "Subscriber - First Name".

  • Orderid - Set this to be the merge tag "Orderid"

  • Aglink - Set this to be merge tag "Aglink"

After you're happy with the updates, click Save on the top and activate the flow. You're now all set to begin sending automated SMS messages to customers.
