Overview

Shopify Flow is an app provided to Shopify merchants that allows them to perform actions based on trigger events. This article will explain how to utilize Shopify Flow with Address Guard when an issue is detected with a customer's shipping address.

Note: Make sure you have the Shopify Flow app installed to your store, before setting up Shopify Flow on Address Guard.

Using Address Guard and Shopify Flow

With Address Guard, you can use Flow to cause a trigger to occur when an issue is identified with the shipping address. From here, you can configure an internal notification sent to your team (for example), to give an alert of the issue.

Get Started

To begin using Shopify Flow, go to: Order Automations > Shopify Flow

Once on this page, click the button slider to Enable the Integration.

Building the flow in Shopify

Now that Shopify Flow is enabled with in your Address Guard account, the next step is to build the actual workflow within Shopify Flow. For this example, we are going to send an internal email to our team when an address issue is identified with a customer order.

1. Open your Shopify admin in a new browser tab.

2. Go to Apps > Shopify Flow

3. In Flow select the Create workflow button

4. Select the trigger Address Issue Identified
โ€‹
5. Set your action as Flow, then select Send internal email

Within the Send Internal Email settings, we support two types of variables:

  • Order ID - inserts the Order ID associated with this address issue

  • Address Issue - inserts the reason for the address issue (ex: Missing Apt)

Once all done, click on Turn on workflow on the top right.

Going forward, Shopify will now send your team an internal email whenever an address issue is identified and also indicate the exact issue.
