Overview
This guide will walk you through how to setup Address Autocorrection for United States based orders. This feature is disabled by default, but we highly recommend to enable it to lower prompt attempts to customers and thus save considerable time.
Note: This feature is available for all eCommerce Platforms and only for United States based orders. We will continually add more countries in the future.
What is Address Autocorrection?
When a common address issue is detected, Address Guard will autocorrect the issue within the address for the customer without showing a prompt after checkout. By doing so, the address issue is fixed in real-time and sent to your store's order system. By reducing the amount of time it takes for a customer to see the prompt & interact, your team can process orders much faster and with less chance of a issue.
Our Address Autocorrection model currently only works within the United States, but we have plans to expand this to other countries such as Canada in the next few months. Address Guard will only make the autocorrection to the address if we have 100% confidence in the change based on multiple postal authorities and carriers that we work with. If there is a difference detected, or if the system is not confident in making the change, the autocorrect will not occur and instead the customer will be prompted.
Today our engine will make the following changes with this feature:
Minor updates to Line1 street name spelling
City name spelling
State name spelling
Postal Code (Zip5 + Zip4 correction)
